Google’s 9th Birthday – Google Celebrating Today

[google-9th-birthday-709558.png]

From Google Operating System Two weeks ago, AFP informed us that “Google, at age 10, is the official heart of the Internet. Born 10 years ago, the Google Internet search engine has grown into the electronic center of human knowledge by indexing billions of web pages as well as images, books and videos.” That’s true, except that Google is 9 years old. Even if Larry Page and Sergey Brin registered the google.com domain in 1997, Google was officially launched one year later.

“Google opened its doors in September 1998. The exact date when we celebrate our birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake,” says Google’s help center. You can read more about it directly from Google. In the recent years, Google’s birthday has been celebrated on September 27th with a doodle displayed on the homepage. Happy birthday, Google!

Update: “Happy Birthday, Google!” is in Google Hot Trends

Update 2: A reader noticed that Google used in this year’s logo a piñata, “a brightly-coloured paper container filled with sweets and/or toys. It is generally suspended on a rope from a tree branch or ceiling and is used during celebrations”.

Netvibes! is your personalized page, you can now modify everything: move modules, add new RSS/ATOM feeds, change the parameters for each module, etc. Your modifications are saved in real-time and you’ll find your page when you get back on Netvibes.com. If you want to be able to access your page from any computer, you can sign in (at the top right) with your email and a password and more features.

Last one year I used pageflakes and google reader and today check out netvibes. Netvibes also cool and better from pageflakes. Page loading time also shorter then others and their imorting and exporting quite superb. I love it and preffer it because always you can’t manage your time so, simply download and upload the xml file.

Everything is alright on Netvibes but I have to face one problem. They don’t provide you <http://www.netvibes.com/example>. If they open it, hope probably they get huge popularity and people love it and feel proud to be a part of netvibes.

Thanks
