Gmail Brings On Labs: Convert Email To Document

When you’re reading a mail, sometimes it’s so important just like your documents. Now, within a click you can covert your Gmail’s email to Documents.

Jeremie Lenfant-Engelmann, Software Engineer of Gmail says, “Feature for Gmail Labs that does just that: with one simple click, “Create a document” converts an email into a Google Docs document. No more copying and pasting the text from your email — just open the message you wish to convert, click the “Create a document” link on the right side of the page, and voila, you have a brand new document which you can then modify and share!”

Moreover, instantly if you need to create a new documents, just hit on G and then W and make sure that your keyboard shortcuts is enabled.

Gmail Brings Browser Based Online PDF Reader

When your friends sent a PDF files to you — you have two options now on your gmail inbox. Either you download the file or directly see the PDF file without leaving or using any third parties applications.

Marc says, “Clicking “View” quickly opens the PDF inside your browser, complete with the graphics and formatting you expect to see in a PDF. You may have seen this feature before, in Google Docs. It’s the way that we did uploading and viewing of PDFs online.”

Also, you can alternatively use any PDF reader and anytime you can download the files too and access offline mode.

Start Chatting Through Gmail's SMS Text Messages

On October’08, Gmail entitled about this updates through their official posts but which isn’t possible in past. Now, Finally Gmail’s enabled SMS Text Messaging For Chat features available in United States. Inside Gmail Inbox, you can send and receive SMS from your friends.

If you found your friends who isn’t online but you need to contact with him/her — just from your inbox (see the images), input the number, type you messages and press on “send sms”. Done.

Dirac says, “When you get a text message from Gmail on your phone, it will come from a number in the 406 area code. (The l33t folks in the crowd will note that this spells G0O.)”. Also “Each of your friends’ messages will come from a different 406 number so you can reply to any message and it will get back to the right person. Messages from the same person will always come from the same number, so you can even bookmark it in your phone” said by Dirac. So, it’s generating unique identity of your friends and no messed up options. Just touch anyone whenever you wants. As well as, you can block anyone – simple send the word “Block” or don’t want to reply someone’s sms – send STOP.

Note that, before to send messages — you should careful, might be you have to pay fee SMS. Dirac says, “Keep in mind that all these text messages count as part of your regular mobile messaging plan and might incur fees. So unless you know your friends have unlimited text message plans, please be sensitive to their phone bills.”

Tasks Features In Gmail Lab

According to their official blog site, Gmail announced another one features which named “Tasks” is helping to manage your To-Do-List inside your gmail inbox. It’s now available on Gmail Lab. Without using Remember The Milk (Online to do list and task management) — you can use To-Do-List and manage all of your works list and so on inside the inbox. RememberTheMilk, where you have to install firefox plug-ins and required registrations and now “Tasks” it’s lightweight and easy to manage all things. Just one or two steps way.

Jonathan Terleski says, “Take entering a new task: just click in an empty part of your list and start typing. No buttons to click and it’s saved automatically. Hit Return and you’ve got a new task right there. You can also easily convert emails into tasks: select one or more messages and go to More Actions > Add to Tasks. (Or turn on keyboard shortcuts and use <shift> + t.). We put your tasks in the same kind of window as chats, so they’re visible while you’re scanning your inbox, reading mail, or searching (and in Settings, too!). Just pop your list out into a new window to use Tasks outside of Gmail.”

However, If want to try out this features, go to settings then Lab Tab and enable “tasks” and save it.  That’s it.
