Panoramio–is photo share community, where people sharing high quality photos and those are always visible to Google Earth as because the user have to Geo-tagged all the photos they upload. When we using Google Earth, we seeing thumb photo boxes and even several photos in single places. All the photos are generating from Panoramio and one click away and that will show photos inside Google Earth.


Official Google announced Google Earth and Maps, they integrated Google Analytics with Panoramio–thus an user now can track who is seeing the photos, from the photos are seeing. Also, it will show graph of visibility, the counters too.

“We’re excited to announce that detailed statistics are now available to users directly within their Panoramio account. Think of Panoramio Stats as a photo-specific version of Google Analytics for Panoramio – in other words, a powerful web analytics tool that helps you measure the performance of your photos. With this new feature, you can track the sites from which your photos have been viewed in visually appealing and intuitive reports.

These statistics are available for every photographer and surface granular information about each photo. For example, a reports for the last 30 days can be broken down by referral domain so photographers can see how many times their photos were viewed within Panoramio, on Google Earth, Google Maps, and through Panoramio’s Widget API. — Official Earth & Maps Blog”

The user will get information, if the photos showed in Google Maps, Google Earth and as well from directly at Panoramio. So, it’s much easier to get information about photos popularity.

Google Earth Plug-Ins Working On Chrome Browser

Google Launched New Version Of SketchUp 7

Google announced about the latest version of sketchup7 – a free software which helping to build 3D models and different types of projects and including google earth projects.

On that latest version, you will get more faster experiences, reliability and easier then before. On that version new features are added and list are given below:

  • Search the 3D Warehouse
  • Download Models Locally
  • Take (and give) credit
  • Custom Templates

And this version’s main focus on:

  • Making SketchUp easier for new modelers to learn
  • Adding “power tools” for SketchUp Pro gurus who dream in faces and edges

Google Earth Browser Plugins Available

Google Lat-Long Official blog has the announcement a new plugins available which for browser based version for Google Earth and embeddable to any websites. Currently, this plugins only work on Windows system and soon Mac and Linux version will be available. Just like as Microsoft Virtual Earth’s, now you can share 3D Google Earth, simply pasting some javacodes on your site.

Turning words from official Lat-long blog, “Our goal is to open up the entire core of Google Earth to developers in
the hopes that you’ll build the next great geo-based 3D application,
and change (yet again) how we view the world.

If you already are one of the 150,000 Maps API sites, and now want to 3D-enable it, we’ve made that possible with just a single line of JavaScript: just add the new G_SATELLITE_3D_MAP map type to your MapsAPI initialization code, and (for most common usages of Maps API) your site will “automagically” support Google Earth via a button in the maps view, with all your existing 2D map code now functioning in 3D as well.
